Gasping, she knew she had to do something, or it would never be safe. Discovered and on the face of the horrible planet. All she had to keep thinking was sunlight, for sunlight destroyed him, destroyed them. There were many rooms in the west wing, but she didn’t trust any one of them. She couldn’t run anymore, after running the long corridors for an hour, exhaustion caught up with her. Suddenly, she heard a whoosh. Jumping at the sound, determination welled up in her, determination to save it. It was dark, for even candles feared to be alight when they were around. Then she came to the place, the one corner that would always be bright for her. The one place she trusted. Putting all trust on God that somehow, the secret would be guarded, she hid it quickly. She could hear them, talking in what sounded like whispering, but a language foreign to everyone but their clan. Fearing its’ safety, she ran the other way, away from it. She knew it wouldn’t take long for them to catch her scent, her movement. She ran, but it felt like a drawl. They were coming closer; the whispering was accompanied by louder whooshes. They spotted her, and she still ran. She ran and not being able to see in the dark ran straight into a wall. The hissing and whooshing stopped, for they could see. All of them stepped aside and the Master came. “Say goodbye, Isabelle,” he said closing in. She smiled for her secret was safe…
